Watching the explosion in slow motion, it looked to me like the force that blew all the windows out the buildings was a massive water surge.

Blast waves can be weird and the initial one struck the camera location in a very short period of time. The main blast wave disperses the air which gives that ‘water’ effect (although it would have carried water and debris and bodies +++).
Sad fact is that there will be an increase in deaths amongst the injured from internal injuries/ruptured organs and sepsis etc will kill them off. With 5000 injured the hospitals (already damaged with their own casualties) would have been very quickly swamped.
