Theft deterrent

Post by IchBautAuto » Fri Jul 17, 2020 8:06 am

I have been using a Disklok for a few years and while acknowledging the occasional annoyance in fitting it, nothing else seems any better for the purpose. Over here in OZ a Disklok is hard to come by and while I did buy the first one here, I was unable to get another so turned to eBay after the actual Disklok business in UK were too lazy to get off their bums and sell me one.

Warning, should anyone look at buying one, try it on first. My original purchase was made in Taiwan and it fitted the B5 RS4 exactly as stated. This second unit was made in China and frankly isn't quite as good. More to the point, it is slightly smaller. Just enough that on the RS4, it grabs the steering wheel and doesn't rotate freely, whereas on the RS6, it is fine and works as it should. The RS4 wheel is fractionally thicker, just enough to make the difference between working and not working.

Luckily, I am able to have the right one in the right car but it would be a real drama to buy one and find out that it wouldn't function correctly, especially half way round the world. Buyer beware.
