Remap C5 RS6

Post by s8quattro1979rs » Mon Jan 06, 2020 2:48 pm

Afternoon,

Can anyone advise me on a good remap for this model, ive had the car a couple of years and although the performance is fantastic - can anyone tell me if a remap make a noticeable difference on this model.

I have had Merc/Audi/BMW diesels remapped before and the difference was VERY noticeable.

The miles are up...148k but its been serviced regular and the gearbox has been serviced and had some components changed.

Am i asking for trouble with a map?

Can travel for this, but if there is anyone good in the Manchester area that would be ideal.

Thanks

If the mechanicals are sound you shouldn't have any problems. Even a stage 1 map should get you near, or even over, 500 bhp. Then, it depends how far you want to go/how deep your pockets are....there are a few about that are making over 570.

Give Unit 20 a call, they're North West area, or Awesome GTi are in Manchester, seem to have a good rep.

Yes, Unit 20 did mine probably back in 2008 and never had any issues in the 7 years I ran mine and it was well worth it. Grizz does a good job and it was worth the trip upto Manchester from Milton Keynes.

Good luck

Thank you chaps, I will speak to both companies. I have seen people offering remaps for silly prices like £150 but will pass on them!

Mate. Go to MRC in Banbury. Circa £650. But worth it. I took my last one unmodified and they got 527bhp out of it. Changed the way it drove and added so much torque to the car

Sorry just seen this is an older post 🤣. Hope it went well whatever you did
