Hi ladies and gents I have come to the dark side bought an Rs4 avant 56 plate been having fun but have developed a misfire after mot was intermitant but now it’s on have changed plugs and all 8 coil packs wiggled wiring/connectors but still on code saying coil pack D I’m stumped as to where to go next

Any help appreciated

Could be a passing injector. Was one of the plugs black and oily looking? Normally they are white and chalky.

The fuel injector leaks when it should be closed, the plug gets wet and then gives a weak or no spark.

If keeping the car long term, best buy a RossTech cable for it. Then you can check to see the misfire counts for each cylinder and try to fix the fault. As well as other functions a fault code reader will not cover.

It could also be really bad carbon build up but I would try checking the new plugs to see if any are oily looking.

My car had random misfires when I first got it, ended up changing 3 injectors and it has been fine ever since.
