Two local Audi garages wont allow owner oil
Two local Audi garages wont allow owner oil
My car is due a service on time on the dash which is slightly annoying as it was last done in March 2017 on a long life and hasn't done many miles since by Mart or myself.
When there was a good offer by Tesco I picked up the right oil cheaply. I called Audi West London first who are saying that their group now wont allow owner to supply oil(might just be RS cars I cant remember), I then called Jack Barclay around Wimbledon who said the same as their policy changed last month.
I'll call a few others but wondered if others are finding this all over the UK? I would have liked MRC to service the car but having full Audi history till now is putting me off although I know its unlikely to be as thorough as the MRC guys doing it.

I think it just depends on the dealer.
I've been supplying my own oil every year for the last six years when I get the car serviced at Southend audi without any issue.

Last year West London allowed me to supply all service gubbins for both the RS4s. As you say they must have changed that policy recently, they really are stealers!

Don’t hesitate to let mrc stamp your book/digital history I was in a similar situation. I’d much rather experts who see these cars day in day out work on my car than young clueless apprentices at audi. In fact when I look at high performance vag cars now I actually look out for mrc invoices and history.Bund wrote: ↑Sun Oct 28, 2018 11:13 amMy car is due a service on time on the dash which is slightly annoying as it was last done in March 2017 on a long life and hasn't done many miles since by Mart or myself.

There are brand new r8’s rs6’s rs7’s etc having first services and maintenance work at mrc.
Come resale those in the know will not give a damn about full Audi history and will appreciate the MRC stamps
Re: Two local Audi garages wont allow owner oil
I contacted a guy who's shown interest in buying it once I've found a replacement or had the truck back as he has a B5, RS2 and RS6 so I'd say he knows his onions and he's said MRC or QST.

Be a shame to break the full Audi history for the sake of an oil change, sure for any other additional work use a specialist.
If you're heading as far south as QST, then you could try Crawley Audi. They were open to customers providing oil some years back, or Five Oaks who know the car.

I’m waiting on Wimbledon Audi to call me back.
I gave MRC the last few servicing details and they quoted for plugs too.
If it’s just an oil service I’m more than happy to use Audi so I don’t lose a day driving around.

Wimbledon Marshall’s won’t allow it either, just an oil service is £350.
I’ll get it done at the most local one.

It's a pain that the London dealerships are not playing ball.Bund wrote: ↑Mon Oct 29, 2018 2:03 pmHey Sam,Surrey Sam wrote: ↑Mon Oct 29, 2018 12:08 pmBe a shame to break the full Audi history for the sake of an oil change, sure for any other additional work use a specialist.

MRC are probably just going on what mileage the car has done to quote for plugs. You don't need them though, as I replaced them in Sep 13 at 42k miles, whilst making the how to change spark plug guide viewtopic.php?t=105855

Re: Two local Audi garages wont allow owner oil
I just booked in with West London Audi at end of Nov, still keeping my eye out for that poorly specced B8!! I must be one of very few who like those 19” wheels that come without drc.Surrey Sam wrote: ↑Mon Oct 29, 2018 3:17 pmIt's a pain that the London dealerships are not playing ball.Bund wrote: ↑Mon Oct 29, 2018 2:03 pmHey Sam,Surrey Sam wrote: ↑Mon Oct 29, 2018 12:08 pmBe a shame to break the full Audi history for the sake of an oil change, sure for any other additional work use a specialist.

Re: Two local Audi garages wont allow owner oil
Nice one.
You could look for a good spec'd B8 and just change the wheels over to the standard 19's. The smaller wheels will certainly help around the capitals poor roads but was not often specified, as the 20's looked better to most purchasers.

Re: Two local Audi garages wont allow owner oil
Don't be too quick to write off main dealer servicing due to prices. A car outside of warranty and needing a new engine or other major work due to a genuine defect could still be covered by Audi or at least get a contribution if it has full main dealer history. A car with no Audi stamps wouldn't stand a chance.RS4LAD wrote: ↑Mon Oct 29, 2018 1:34 amDon’t hesitate to let mrc stamp your book/digital history I was in a similar situation. I had my gearbox replaced free of charge on my old Alfa 156 gta when the car was outside of warranty but they checked if it had full dealer history first.
