Who has a £100k car? Not me....the RS6 sold months ago and am currently in an A45 AMG.....not as good as I hoped so a move back to Audi S/RS is on the cards for later this year.

I’ve not driven an A45 but have heard mixed reviews - would like a go

Depending on where you are mate I’ll let you have a blast-it was half the price of the C7 but it is half the car.
There’s about 5 things I really like(it’s very good on tight B roads) and about 20 I hate. Had it 5 months and it’s now on a Stage 1 tune so it’s better than it was before but still too many minus points. Once the finance balances out I’m coming back to Audi.

Thanks for the offer, I’m down in Sussex.

How does it compare to the 135 you had.

135 engine and gearbox are great but is let down by the poor chassis-my second one I had tuned and it couldn’t handle the extra power and torque. Kept wanting to go sideways.
On the A45 the chassis is the strong point-it grips and fast cornering is great. It is fantastic on B roads ,very impressive (shorter wheelbase helps). The chief villain is the gearbox which is slow, clunky and dimwitted. Frankly it’s shocking on an AMG product. Only a 2L engine so it’s highly strung with little to no flexibility. You have to rev the crap out of it to get results. Turbo lag is f£££in horrific and it’s dangerous coming out of junctions. Fitting a ‘pedal box’ (improves throttle response by around 40%) does help plus a tune but it really is an all or nothing Car. Compared to the RS6 it’s frankly crap, but I’m paying around £450 less a month so that was the whole object.
The infotainment system (Comand) compared to MMI and IDrive is pathetic. Long winded and confusing. I really coulld keep going with the bad parts. Depressing!
As you can tell I’m not that impressed apart from the handling. Fully specc’d up they are around £54k and no way are they worth that. I paid £36k for a 2 year old low mileage one which is far better value.
All told am pretty disappointed with Mercedes so as soon as possible it’s back to four rings....

I think Millbrook did driving courses. Maybe worth a look as you will be on a closed road similar to a public highway.
