Is the sound quality poor on dab? Works vans have got it and quality is pretty poor.

No, it's really good. Surprisingly good sound quality all round considering it's not a "premium audio" spec system, if Mitsubishi even do one. The interface is retarded, though. I had to get the manual out to find out how to find and add a station.

I listen to DAB all the time on various devices and the sound quality is can be great at the source (depending on what station you listen to, of course). More often than not it's the DAB receivers that are <beep>. Like the "portables". Why do they all have one speaker FFS?! It's like they thought "Let's not consider sound quality for one second".

Pop in next time you're driving by and I'll give you a demo.

I've got dab at home, Cambridge audio unit. Think it's the stations as you say. Kerrang, Planet rock are compressed like buggery and only transmit in mono.

Try BBC 6 Music for reference sound quality. No compression as far as I can tell, and decent sound quality. In my other cars I find myself using internet radio on my phone more and more. Works surprisingly well.
