Replacing Car Battery

Post by Considered1 » Thu Nov 30, 2017 3:35 pm

Hi Folks just hoped one of you king folks would have come across this already

Audi are quoting me £323.81 for a new car battery for my 2009 RS6 Avant 5.0 v10

I was wanting just the usual black and red terminals not solid gold and platinum but the dealer says it may invalidate my extended warranty if I fit non approved so i've asked them for the exact spec of the 12v battery that is required!

Any one else come across this, seems a ridiculous price for something that will outlive the car and the entire Royal Family!

id much rather spend the money on the real things that need replacing..

never heard such gash in all my days about warranty etc-most warranty claims on rs6 will be oil seal/coolant pipes, maybe box/prop related
i would love to hear them explain how a battery that was a little over/under the a/hour rate caused it

i would imagine you will get a decent battery for around 100-120 quid in spec

Hahaha never heard that before. You can probably buy the exact same battery for half the price elsewhere. Or just use one the same size and spec from another manufacturer, there aren't that many different ones available.

I just paid £125 for mine from a trade Shop, be very careful when taking the positive terminal off, under the plastic cover is a small 30amp fuse held beneath 2 nuts and it will snap with the slightest movement. Only 4.86 to replace but a pain to locate one.

Thanks for your nice advise as this will surely help my cousin as he is also expecting to replace the car battery. It would definitely help me and I will advise him for sure.
