Hi

Anyone any suggestions as to where to store a ‘keyless’ key? I seem to remember someone previously mentioning a ‘signal jamming box’?????

I think they are mainly called Faraday bags or boxes. Try searching for Faraday key or similar.

What a wonderful world we live in when you have to take such security precautions, great isn't it.

It’s really no different to locking your windows and doors though? There’s a vulnerability and people try to exploit it, same way people used to nick car radios, smash windows to get contents or whatever. Just exploiting a different route. I’m not saying it’s right that it’s this way, just that it’s pretty much the same as always - have nice things, people try steal them...

Slightly off topic but you should consider getting an Auto watch ghost, gotta say that for a couple of hundred ppounds it is brilliant

I've had plenty of nice cars in the past and never used to feel like i was going to have them stolen like i do now, not saying it never used to happen but not on the scale it is now, and having to buy a special device to keep your key safe just screams "I'm likely to have my car stolen, but I'll do what i can to keep it safe for now" it's just shocking it's the society we live in now, such a shame.

Totally agree. I guess I’ve just been fortunate - couldn’t give away some of the old bangers I’ve had in the past lol.

Again, technology makes it seem like it's more prevalent. i.e. you see more of it because it's reported more. e.g. posts like this on forums - these didn't exist in the way they do now so you'd be less likely to see these stories. It's like looking at the year before we first ran crime statistics (or any year since). The increase in occurrence can be down to higher reporting, better detection, more public awareness - along with more instances of the crime in question in some cases.

p.s. I'm not saying that this makes it OK or that we shouldn't take precautions...just that it's not likely to be any more at risk that it was previously - it's just different methods
