Do you check your oil level ? Just occurred to me that I never do, always keep an eye on the tyres but never oil or water

:bash:

Should always check oil, especially on these sorts of cars. Mine drinks it like no tomorrow. In fact I think I need someone to check my car on the Vagcom to see if the low oil warning is switched on as pretty sure it's not. A couple of times i've checked and it has been perilously low but no warning light?

5W 30 is ultra viscose in a big fat engine that needs a lube. It's going to use it. Mine does for sure, harder I press the pedal the more it uses coating my inlet valves.
You should see how my wife's Golf Edition 30 drinks the stuff :drink: , I have to check it every week. Euro car parts see me walking in and slap a 5 litre can on the counter straight away, I don't even speak, pay, wash and go.

Ha ha that's the way to do it!
I swapped for 5w40 gulf competition. Seems to be better For consumption. But still check every other week.. ps. Simon, if your low level light came up you too late already. Should never wait for the light. Also not sure it's even possible to switch it off with Vag

Hmmm, thanks, It's never come on but last time I checked there was literally no oil, so that's why I was thinking it was switched off.

Just put another litre in the wifes Golf. Off to Brighton tomorrow in the Edition 30 and onto Goodwood Festival of Speed on Sunday. The RS4 is sleeping until the ring trip the week after next. I'll certainly check the oil before I leave.
