S4 B8 2012 Map update

Hi everyone, I'm new here and looking for some points of view regarding map versions.

I have had my S4 (B8) in the dealers this week for a map upgrade to the 2016 edition. Some journeys had me 'going offroad' when I was on bypasses. I believe the old maps were 2012 Europe edition but not sure. In any case after the update both the MMI and the Maps seemed to have the same version number as before. I queried this with the dealer who said I could bring the car back in if I wanted to but they checked with the parts department and they definitely used the 2016 SD card.

If I look at the versions now I see MMI = something P0530 and Nav database = something ECE 5.13.8. I have checked a few sites and it looks like I these version numbers are old but the dealer said that I should not rely too heavily on the internet. Obviously I will go back some time next week but thought I would get some ammo from here first.

Short of driving the bypasses, which I am not near at the moment I thought my best bet was to sound out a specialist forum. Maybe you could help and also indicate if the MMI should have been upgraded as part of the process.

I have had my S4 for just over 12 months now and am very pleased with it.
