Epic car's

Post by discostu49 » Tue Oct 11, 2016 9:26 pm

So this year Ive had a chance to see these in the flesh, the laferrari ha's got to be the most amazing car for me and i may never see one on the road again however the 918 is owned by a guy who drives it to the driving range weekly and can be seen parked up under a tree. Funny when I asked a passer by if they knew the cost of it to which they replied 150k.....when I told them there face was priceless and out they got with the camera too. I never got the bug or laf without my son in it but will be good for him to have the pics when he's older hoping he's a car guy like me

I had a good look around an LAF that was in Dick Lovett a year or so back. It's a lovely looking thing in the flash, and there's so many good details
Out of the three current hyper cars, it'd be the 918 I'd go for
I've not been in any of them on the go, but I did get taken for a spin in a Veyron a few year's back, and besides the unbelievable quality of the materials on the inside, the sheer acceleration of the thing was immense - Think 3rd gear at 115 mph pinning you to the seat in the same way an RS4 does in first at 15mph
I understand the current crop of hypercars accelerate event harder, so they must be just mental to drive
-------------------------------------------------------
Gone - 11/06 B7 RS4 Avant - black/black (Daily drive & kids taxi)
Gone - 05/13 B8 RS4 Avant - Suzuka grey (Daily drive & kids taxi)
Gone - 01/14 B8 RS5 Coupe - Short term car
Gone - 09/14 B8 RS4 Avant - Misano Red/Ceramics (Daily drive & kids taxi)

Current - 04/18 B9 Rs4 Nardo Grey
ZX10R Race bike - 210bhp and a few skid marks on the seat ;)

Great! Still not seen an LaF in the flesh.

The P1 looks a bit ordinary when it's not in race mode, in my opinion, but looks bad ass when it is!

I admire them, but would never get one. They are way too fast and uninvolving on the road, and too expensive to use on track. I am no angel, but for me they ultimately end up as willy waving machines.

I would however, if funds allowed, buy a Carrera GT. They are relatively good value at around £300k. They are a real driver's car, with no aids but incredble engineering with the motorsport-derived V10 (best sounding road car ever made IMO) and carbon tub. I'd appreciate the engineering, but also happily slog one round a circuit.
Current Fleet:
2016 Audi RS6 Performance
2015 Porsche 991 GT3
2015 Porsche 991 Carrera 4 Cab
2012 Porsche Cayenne Diesel
2010 Land Rover Defender 5.0 V8

300k for a CGT, you'd be lucky.

Carrera GT's are around £600k today, some examples are even more.
They have increased a considerable amount, unsurprising as it is a stunning car.

Oops- i should keep up with things! I just remember last year you could get a GT3 RS 4.0 or Carrera GT for the same money - £3-400k. Still, compared to F40, F50 and the latest hypercars which have appreciated hugely, they're still relatively undervalued.
