So had a wee shot of a 8P RS3 today.
Wow just showed me how fast the RS6 is. night and day quicker.
RS3 vs RS6
Cons,
Slower (much slower)
less refined
more road noise, although not as much as I expected. more than acceptable.
more wind noise, as above
less toys
driving position too high
slight turbo lag
Smaller
duller looks
less torque
pros,
loads cheaper
if it breaks who cares
more chuckable
more fun at lower speeds
no need for a fuel tanker to follow you around
very tuneable engine
tuning parts readily available at decent prices
fun car
smaller and easier for the wife to drive / park
understated, no need to hide it
more comfortable than I expected
no torque steer (RS6 deffo had an issue there)
I had a spirited drive home is the RS6 tonight (50 odd miles) and must admit I really enjoyed it. Its a lovely place to be, but just a bit boring at non warp speeds. its a huge car and does not suit the roads I drive on (poor A & B roads) I am going to miss it but given the cost I think there will be a sigh of relief when its gone. huge car, speed, tech and huge cost and for me just not worth it. I am looking forward to a cheaper wee project where I can get my hands dirty and not worry about cost and warranty.
please don't take anything above as an insult or me slating a given car, its just "my" opinion and after all that counts for nothing.
Overall he RS6 is an awesome car but just not for me. I could not muster any enthusiasm for tuning the 6
600bhp RS3?? who knows, but will be fun trying lol
