Removing the Power Socket

Hi, I'm a relatively new owner of a B8, RS4 who is looking for some info/advice.
I would like to get access to the power connections at the back of the power socket in the arm rest but having looked at the similar socket on the boot, the socket isn't a push fit into the trim, it has a nut to keep it firmly in place. How do I get into the back of the arm rest socket? What trim do I need to remove to get the access? Any special techniques needed to do the job?
TIA for any advice given.
Cheers,
Mike.
