Speed camera detector questions

I know this has been covered before but not since last year from what I can tell from a quick search. Camera detectors-dedicated one or in -phone app? Any recommendations and which ones are considered the 'best'. Not really interested in the laser jammers that are on sale, they are claimed to be 'street legal' but I can see it being more trouble than it's worth-the Police aren't stupid and know what to look for, a simple stop check will probably turn into a lengthy mess around when they see the sensors in your grille- 'street legal' or not! The airwave radio detector would also fall into this category.

I have target blu eye in mine which is brilliant as it picks up the police location. If it goes off you know they're ahead!

You think this'll happen overnight? Well the 4g coverage is utter rubbish and I know 100% that they have to run whatever systems they are planning on in parallel for some time before change over. Has to be 100% take up with all authorities before they can switch off to. Something like late 2018.

For cameras I use the CamSam app on Android (windows phone & blackberry too).

It has a user update-able static and mobile camera list (a bit like Waze for cameras), very simple user interface and 1km warnings but it hammers battery life (my phones plugged in so no problems). Also runs in the background so you can use Google Maps for Nav and this for Speed Cameras at the same time which is extremely handy!

Am running IPhone 6 and it looks like I have a choice of Cyclops & CamerAlert....anyone have any experience of either? Thinking a stand alone system is all very nice but an app means one less bit of kit in the car (to lose or break!)

Those Aps work well providing the hand held gun locations are updated by users reporting in, so you can get caught out

Laser Elite of which I have some expirence with :sekret: a long long time ago :sekret: is a jammer but doubles as a front parking sensor so far so good - 100% in fact

Works out around £250 fitted

R1RS4, Do you have a single laser head, or multiple? Does the unit switch off after a detection so it's not constantly jamming?

It's a single head

It switches off when they take the gun off you or your in the legal limit and you toggle it off

It does not go off randomly as per the olde style, when someone operated a garage door or changed channels on the tv etc

It works, ......sorry it worked :sekret: :sekret: :sekret:

Currently trying the 'Cyclops' app on IPhone-have to say so far am not too impressed to be honest! CamerAlert is the other one to try after this. Any other recommendations? The laser jammers mentioned here am not really into (for the benefit of the tape ), our cars attract attention as it is (from those in the know) and a simple stop check could turn into a protracted going over when the Black Rats ping the sensors
