First sad; Yesterday I let go of my rs4 cabriolet, I have had it for 3 years with no issues (apart from a roof motor). It always started on the button and I loved it.....

But it had to be something good for me to part with the rs4, new toy :

Looks good mate. Getting an R8 is definitely going to help you get over the loss of the B7. Liking the Iron man key ring too. Has DK owned that R8 before? Looks familiar.

Which one? :biggrin3: sure he had a red v8 too. Or was two red v10's? Can't keep up.

I had x2 identical red V10's ... the second one was in sympathy to the first one which I should never have sold and tried many times to purchase back

Red looks ACE !

Great choice, red really suits the R8

Did you consider the R8 Cabby as a replacement?
And didnt take the Milltek of your 4 did you by any chance?

Hi - yeah thought about the cab but bit more pricier and this one came up with all the bits and colour I wanted, B&O, Mag ride, exclusive interior etc.
I had the wheels painted black and the mirrors by the garage (stoke audi) who were great to deal with.... they also gave it a major service and new tyres all round and new discs.

Afraid I did not take the Milltek of the RS4; highly recommend it for the car though as transformed it and miss that on the R8 (thinking of getting a Larini or Caprista one).

Had a play this morning and love it, bit more twitchy than the rs4 but believe this is due to the 85/15 split as opposed to the 60/40 in the RS
Also starting changing the chrome badges to the black which i think looks better :

Good old lego :D looks good - the carbon case on mine is not great and decreases the range of the remote by a lot....

Absolutes stunner buddy. The red has to be one of the best colours for the R8.

How do you compare the V8 R8 to the RS4?. I've always contemplated the V8 version but wondered if I would be disappointed as it would yeild no significant improvement from the RS4!!!

Thx mate, the r8 is lower a wider so feels more sporty, and you get a whole lot more people staring at you than the rs4 (especially the kids seem to love it...)
As the rs4 has a non res miltek exhaust, when the valves were open the sound was great' the r8 I have has the std exhaust (at the mo) so has a good sound but not as deep or load.
The r8 is a lot flatter when cornering and its ride feels smother over the bumps (I have the magnetic ride).
The r8 feels faster as lighter but more twitchy like a rear wheel drive car, can lose traction easier than in the rs4 (but believe this is because the r8 is more rear wheel biased than the Rs4)

Happy I made the change as the r8 feel special, but was difficult as loved the rs4.....

Awesome. thanks for the first hand review

Yeah, they certainly are a head turner and its hard to believe what money you can pick them up for now too

I guess I was simply thinking of the speed performance and not the whole package, so when you explain it like that then it does make sense as a progression!! :)
