It's nice, but here's the problem, it felt like I was getting into another Audi, it didn't feel special enough. I didn't have to tinker or play I just got in and drove as everything was second nature. For me, the problem is the price. 150k. Feels pricey.

Had one for a couple of days last week and as mentioned, the price is far too high.

There are many other cars I'd have at that price or more importantly at 2/3 price like a 991 or 4 wheel drive f-type
Currently :

Porsche Cayenne GTS
Porsche GT4 RS
Lotus Exige V6 ( tuned to c430bhp)

Ex
2017 AMG E class wagon
2012 Audi RS4 (B8)
2012 Porsche Boxster S (981)

The original R8 was a relative bargain at £78k, this is too expensive especially considering how many toys they've taken off it. Audi overpriced the new TT, discounts of £10k prove it. I can't see this being as popular as the original without big discounts.

I like, but I fear it will soon be a whole lot less attractive once you lot inevitably thrash it from cold on test drives.

McLaren - cheaper, faster, better looking, and not 'another Audi'. You're in something special.

The R8 has priced itself out of the market.
Believe only the man who has nothing to gain from what he says.

Agreed, though I cannot see the Mac being cheaper in real terms. You'll get discount on the R8 and the Mac will need a few extras. There's also the thorny issue of depreciation with the Mac.
