Yep is expensive, but also RWD rather than the haldex pair.

the merc has a proper front diff on the revised car

there all damn expensive, doubly so when compared to lease costs of an R golf and in the real world not that much faster

the M2 certainly looks the best by a mile (Audi thats how you do flared arches, 80mm not 15mm ...) but it has a 6k premium if you match the spec with a dual clutch box

now if they M2 is as alive to drive as the M4 and not as utterly dull as the M235i then its got to be top of the tree, the downside is the greasy dodgy dealer network

the original A45 was very uninvolving when i drove it but the revised car has a lot of tweaks that could fix that, front diff, updated suspension, updated steering, faster box, shorter ratios, so its in serious contention atm

the new RS3 just leaves me cold, looks just like an s3 with the much smaller front wings over the mk1, and has that bloody terrible dynamic steering sh1te that audi insist on putting on everything, besides after 1700 hours in my RS3 i fancy a change

Drove both back to back on the autocross track at Audis Neuberg; in my opinion the sound of the Audi was much better, especially with sport exhaust. The biggest difference was the steering, the Audi was far superior in this area with much less input required. Both 4wd systems were good, although merc seemed to light a front inside wheel at times. Other than that gearbox was as good and power was very similar in terms of delivery. All in all both cracking cars

Not driven the other 2 but now I've driven the RS3 I know I wouldn't hesistate in buying one if it was big enough for my needs. Worth it for the sound of the sports exhaust alone!

How many "normal" people actually have the skill to drive the BMW M2 like that though? I'd say the Audi/MB cars can use their power in a much more usable manner, even if the BMW "looks" more fun.
