Trader prices...

Hi all,

As much as I love, respect and still want my B7 RS4, I'm doing too many miles in it. Its a shame, as its been my dream car for a number of years now and now I've finally got one I'm finding that I'm just using it too much. Its a weird situation, but too much of a good thing and all that.

So, Im going to the dark side and have just ordered a 430d to munch the miles, therefore I've been seeing what price traders would give for my avant. I paid good money for it from a dealer last year, but it is a very clean and tidy example with good history and the warranty gave me piece of mind.

Im finding that traders are offering around the £15-16k figure, does this compute? Looking around on Pistonheads the price for these cars fluctuates wildly. What are seemingly a relatively low mileage examples are being offered for similar money of ones with 20-30k more miles on. have prices stayed firm over the last year or are they taking a dip?

I would like to sell privately, I've put too much time and money into the car to just see it disappear into the ether. What sort of money can I ask for a 2007 Daytona Avant with 66k, buckets, nav, adaptive lights, bluetooth, 20" Q7 speedlines with loads of rubber, KW adjustable lowering springs, FASH (& Unit 20), front discs & pads 2k miles ago, new top mounts all round, very good paintwork and interior etc etc... you get the jist.

Prices of B7's have been strong in the last year. I'd say that's a £17k car or thereabouts. So your offers of £14-15k trade are about right. They'll put it on the forecourt for £21k and take £20k.

No I retract that. Looking on AT just now (after your rebuttal) I can see I was off the mark - prices are strong indeed. Nearest I can find to your car is in the £19-20k bracket really, so I was off before my apologies. Please don't be offended - I didn't realise the market was so good in the B7's right now. Kinda gutted I sold mine so cheap lol.

My £0.02

I just bought a 2007 avant a couple of months ago; higher mileage than yours but also more work done to it (coilovers, arbs, MRC stage 2, custom exhaust, interior retrim, upgraded nav etc). It was advertised for £22k.

I'd agree that £19-20k is the right range to advertise yours
