C63 vs Yamaha R1

Ive watched this about 4 times and can't quite understand it. Either that C63 has had something serious done to the engine or there is something wrong with that crotch rocket.
Either way this doesn't make sense, i thought a Yamaha R1 would leave behind a C63?

In standard trim yeah defo. That c63 has gotta be heavily modified. Possibly had the twin turbos fitted off the e63??

Watch the rev's on the R1, he's hardly tanking it. He lets it get away from him then winds it up catches up then backs off again

The C63 got the jump from the start and then hit corners, so the bike was going to be slower. It repeatedly caught up in no time though, so looked quicker at that point. When they were side by side it would just suggest the C63 wasn't limited. Possibly the 507 performance pack, but I doubt it was modded any more than bolt ons for an N/A car.

A Performance Pack C63 remapped will get 520BHP as my old one did. If you chnage the standard manifiold for long tune ones it goes up to 570BHP.
My C63 was 520BPH and man it was fast, racing motorbikes at higher speed ie over 130mph, then its down to the biker ie has he got the balls to max it out. In my experience not. But if he has then he will beat the C63. Especially an R1.

This^^^
He let it go then caught it. Side by side at 180mph then he backed off as he spotted a car in his lane in the distance. And 180mph on a bike is crazy! Wind is his biggest enemy at that speed.

+1
I was maxing my Porsche out at 170mph on the Autbahn back from the ring one summers night at dusk with my cousin on his GSX750R fitted with a racing EPROM. Clear rd too.
When he was behind me, he said the wind was so strong coming off my car he had to move to the inside lane as not get blown of his bike.

I've had R1's right across the model years - KMH 299 is 185 - but equally that C63 is modified - 1:45 in the R1 is doing 299KMH and 12,500 revs and he backs off slightly to 268 but the C63 is laying down a lot and gone. Modified...

The R1 is a slim bike, tuck in and wind can be less of an issue. Balls however are. 170MPH on an R1 is enough for me
Gone but never forgotten:

MRC stage 2, de-flap and full carbon clean - 438PS and 489NM. HEL brake lines. H&R Spacers. Gtechniq C1 and EXO V2 coatings. 2010+ RNS-E. On the MRC dyno: http://youtu.be/y_k0VJ2--y8

Yes the carb version was 187 stock from the box, remapping only gets you there faster, I see TTS do a supercharger for an R1 .... Interested to know the spec on that set up

I never tuck in behind a car at high speed anyway it's not the wind it's the turbalace and buffeting that more of a worry

Sitting upright with a open faced crash helmet (goggles) (<beep>) on a Vmax flat out on the M3 many years ago 155/160 scarery, got hit in the face by a sun beetle or I hit it, had a bruise for 3 weeks but bought a full face the next day! Live and learn

My 2001 R1 was an animal. The last one on the Mikuni carbs before injection. Sold that to a bloke who sold it no less that 2 weeks later again. Reason? Too fast!

My 2005 then 2007 R1's were indeed very very quick, but for some reason that 2001 model was utter savagery...

The Aprilia Rsv4 I've ridden is very quick, but seems nothing compared to a factory RsV Mille R...

Yer I sold mine as it was just pull away from lights, apply brakes to get back from 140mph without even realising it.

Got a cbr600rr and it's as fast to 100 but you have to think about it!

Ive been into bikes since about 12 and have had lots of quick machines. I currently own a b7 rs4 and a 2011 honda fireblade amongst others and straightline speed and acceleration the bike has it hands down. I,m no rossi on the bike so cornering wise i,d be a lot quicker in the rs but power to weight the bikes leagues ahead. Was surprised the speeds the c63 was pulling though!! My mates just traded his 997 turbo for a c63 so will have to have a head to head with the b7. :biggrin3:
rs4 b7 daytona avant. Miltek resonated valved, Mrc stage 2
vw touran 2.0tdi, blue /black leather. family wagon!!.
repsol honda fireblade.
Zx12r b1 in black and gold. The colour to have!!
