This thread makes no sense really, other than the OP needs new pads.

Do you have a Steel setup or a Ceramic one; what colour are your brake calipers, Grey or Black?

Calipers are grey

Unfortunately Ceramic discs use a different type of pad compound to work together and that means less choice.

Stoke Audi will do a set for around £310, whilst the only after market solution I've heard that works with Porsche's ceramic discs is the Pagid RS29 brake pad. I'm yet to hear any Audi ceramic disc users utilise a pad other than the OEM one though.

If you don't mind me asking, how many miles have you covered on those pads?

Car has just covered 25,000 miles and didn't think they would be cheap rear pads are £85 from solihull audi which isn't too bad but front was quated £350 and wear sensors £59 a side!!

That's quite early to be replacing ceramic pads ?
Rears are steel, and nice and small, so pretty cheap in comparison
Due to the ridiculously huge cost of replacing the ceramic disc, I'd be very reluctant to use anything other than OEM pads fitted anywhere other than a dealer

As above.

I shall be replacing mine with Audi ones, not worth the risk and the OEM performance is great anyway.

I don't honestly know Graeme, as my Ceramics came off another car I purchased which had done 60k. I could find no record of a pad change when investigating its history and they appeared to be around 2/3rds worn?

Just can't believe the setup would have done over 60k on a single set of pads, although the pad backing plates were breaking out in rust and looked to be that sort of age. I want to get them replaced mainly because I don't want to risk getting down to the backing plate pins and ruining the disc face - like you can get with the steel B7 setup.

Previously, I've googled (is that a word now?) Porsche PCCB pad life and read experiences of great pad life. There just isn't any Audi experience out there that I could find.

My understanding is to expect 60-80 from the pads and 120+ from the discs
Porsche discs and pads are now the same material and design as Audi RS products, so life expectancy should be similar I'd hope (although you might argue that typically, porsche's get a harder life if someone's had the foresight to order ceramics

Yeah, had them for about 4 months now Jay.

Just 4 more options to go before I have every one in the brochure except the exclusive paint/interior, two of which I don't want anyway. I'm such a spec whore

Yes, so glad Audi didn't have the same issue as the PCCB's had to begin with - it could have killed all faith in Ceramic brakes. OK, 60-80k that's quite a bit, if mine are original then they're on the money.
