Dealer not happy with finance payoff

Oh dear, I think I have upset a Audi dealership, I bought a car on audi finance as you get 2 years free servicing, but as with most finance agreements there is a 14 day cooling off period. So I paid off the balance within 5 days of buying the car as audi finance confirmed you keep the service agreement, anyway they also told me many people do this who have the money in the bank for the car but pay off the finance within the 2 weeks as a way of getting a free 2 year service plan.
The dealer I bought the car from has contacted me asking why I have paid the finance off within the 14 days and this has a impact on them, as audi finance will claim the price of the servicing from them. So I'm guessing the longer you keep the finance the dealership must get a chunk from the interest? But surely they should not be asking why I have paid off the finance and now this has now personal impact on the sales managers targets. Do I really need to know this?

Debit backs.
They don't get a chunk of the interest, they get a doc fee .
If you cancel the finance, they have to give this back.

The finance agreement is between you and the finance company. The dealer gets a kickback for selling you the deal.
It is your rights under personal finance laws to be able to pay it off without penalty within 14 days.
The dealer doesn't pay the servicing (or I would be very surprised at this) as it is part of the finance deal. After all, nothing to stop you going to a different dealer.

I think they have a claw back period of 6 months, i.e. if you pay it off before then the dealership will lose their cut or a percentage of it. It will also not tick any relevant boxes on cars sold with Audi Finance which not doubt they have a target for. The bottom line is that it will effect bonuses paid which is why their not happy.
However, that's not your problem and they shouldn't be contacting you. I would speak to the head of business at the dealership asking them why it was so important that this call was necessary and its impact on their targets and explaining the distress this has caused you. Just don't ask them for a free service

Yes I was quite surprised when they contacted me, but at least I know not to buy another car from this dealer again.

Audi customer service phoned me today regarding something else, so I brought up about the dealer contacting about paying off the finance, to which they asked me if they could have the dealer name and name of salesman as this is just not acceptable. I told Audi c/s that this dealer is doing some warranty work soon so will give them the dealer name once I have the car back from the warranty work.

Oh no, you must feel bad! You should probably go back onto the finance deal, it's best for the stealer.

When I ordered a new A1 for my Daughter, I told the dealer up front that I'm taking finance to get the Audi contribution and will be paying it off within the 14 days. The salesman and finance manager might not like what I'm doing, but at least they are professional enough not to show it. Picked it up this week and was told that it includes 5 years free servicing, bonus!

Had another call from Audi Uk customer service yesterday saying they must have the name of the dealers so they can sort this issue regarding me paying off the finance and them not being happy with it. As I told them a few days ago once this dealer has done my warranty work I will let them know who they are, it does sound though Audi UK are not happy with what they have done, and will have some sort of communication with them.

Bought my S6 with the Audi finance and received £2250 contribution over and above the 14% discount from the dealer. Paid my end over the last 2 months with the final payment of £10k on the day I picked her up (1st March) but as the finance started on the 27th Feb I contacted Audi finance and asked for a settlement fig - they told me that during the 14 day cooling off period there was a £4.50 per day charge so if I wanted to pay it off it would be the borrowed fig plus £4.50 for each day into the 14 day cooling off period.
I called them again and asked for a settlement fit on the 28th Feb and low and behold it was the borrowed amount plus £4.50 so I confirmed I was sending them a cheque and sent it in the post. As such I had paid the finance off prior to actually picking up the car.
Upon arriving at the dealers I told the salesman and he was very happy for me and not bothered about it at all - happy days
