New Rs4 B8 - tuning

Post by Chrisinnes » Sun Oct 06, 2013 11:05 pm

Hi All,

I have a new Rs4 coming in November and I am looking for someone to tune it. I stay in Aberdeen in Scotland and I would drive somewhere for a decent remap. I don't want all the exhausts and stuff at the moment but would like a remap.

Does anyone know what the BHP figures are for a remap and what is the best software and results out there ?

Thanks
Chris

Try MRC in Banbury but I think the car is pretty much already mapped from what I've been told. It's not like you're going to get a power increase in a B8 from mapping, a B5 certainly and to some extent in a B7 (a smoother drive) but a B8 - it's kinda already done for you.

What do you want - more power, a smoother drive?

Pretty much nothing left from a remap.
The b8's slight advantage over the b7 is largely due to the extra 500 rpm and better breathing.
Most b7's with minimal effort can get to the 430-440ps range easily enough.

Throttle response should be easy enough to tweak - I hav my sporty mode set quite aggressive as it makes heel n toe that bit sharper.

Even if you go the whole hog I wouldn't expect miracles though.
Tuning an already highly tuned n/a engine gets expensive real quick.

As far as I know, the map brings in nothing other than to remove torque limiter in the first couple of gears and overall top speed limiter
I spoke with MRC, who said they'll have a supercharger kit eventually, but it won't be straight away
I think mtm (QST in the uk I think) could source you an RS5 S/C kit, but it'll need modifying to fit
The normal filter and exhaust mods will get you a bit, but not enough to make a huge perceivable difference I'm guessing
