A6 how to turn off DRL's

Post by Timster » Thu Sep 12, 2013 9:37 pm

Had a new A6 on loan today.
It was a fairly basic 2.0TDi model.

How the hell do you turn of the stupid LED DRL’s ?

All options from within the MMI/setup? system where greyed-out / unresponsive.
Do the DRL’s have to stay on at all times on these basic models?
VW Toe-rag V6 R-line.... no curry hooks...wtf ?

Any car built after about June 2012 I think has to have drl's on that turn off when the normal lights are switched on. They should be illuminated at all other times when the ignition is on or the car is running.
Current car: 2007 BMW 530d touring.
Previous car: 2005 S4 B7.

Didn’t know that.
Guess that’s why all the twatty looking led eyebrows, are on all day whenever I see another current Audi then.

Shame.

It was a loaner matey, whilst mine was being serviced.

Bizarrely it was much quicker than the 2.0tdi A5 I had last year. (which was bloody horrible)

No chance buddy. Other than the new RS6 I sat in today, there’s nothing else I’d really want at the mo’. Which is just as well really.

(although I have spunked a load of dosh on the “Hope Diamond” for the missus this week, plus a knees-up this weekend. No wonder I never make it Spa, is it)

The reason for the greyed-out options in the MMI was likely due to you driving as most (Car System) options become unavailable until the car is stationary.

Nah. It was greyed-out when stationary.

That's strange, perhaps it's ignition on but without the engine ticking over?

I know this to be the case in my A8 & the wife's Q5, but can't recall if the engine running or not makes a difference. It also only affects car system settings.
