A scumbag hit me, need a bodyshop

Post by gangstarrrrr » Wed Jul 03, 2013 8:04 pm

Some scumbag hit the S4 when it was parked up, no note left. Damage is on the driver side wing and a bit on the bumper. Damage is strange as it seems to have white powder which rubs off rather easily, not like car paint.

Fuming. A quiet road too. No one seems to have seen anything.

I need to get it sorted out somehow. Anyone know any good body shops in NW London? Or the northern Home Counties? Is self pay the best option or go through insurance? I've not been in this position before.

Go and speak to my mate Dan at Vicsell autos in Harlow. He is on the Pinnacles estate. One of the best painters I know and the only person I would ever let paint one of my cars.

Sorry to see this to your car. Think you need to get a couple of estimates before you decide what to do. Hope all goes well.

Happened to me not long back and in exactly same place. I went through insurance in the end as I was getting quoted well in excess of a grand. I paid the £350 excess as I have protected no claims bonus.

Some scum out there. Sorry to hear about your car.

Hmmm not good. This year I think I am the main policy holder and my no claims isn't protected but my wife's one is.

Thanks for the suggestions so far, I will look into them.

Any others would be much appreciated.

Also, does anyone know if there are warranty implications of not getting it done by Audi? Would like to take it to a recommended place but that's unlikely to turn out to be Audi.

Getting West London Audi to quote on it regardless to see how far they are from others.

Would other body shops use original Audi parts/paint?
