Do Audi UK set the finance % rates or is it down to the authorised dealer ?
(ie can it vary from dealer to dealer)

Eg on an approved-used vehicle, not new.
Cheers

Audi Finance (read VWFS)...sister (but seperate) company to Audi UK.

But then the dealer has lots of margin to play with and will always look to bend you over at the first opportunity.

Cheers Dave. I'd hoped you'd come-back on this.

So I'm correct in thinking that the dealers all use the same VWFS product but can be flexible to a point ?
Any idea what that "lowest rate" may be?

Cheers

On used cars they aren't obliged to use VWFS.
They can use who they want although most use VWFS
But some may use Blackhorse etc.

They will have different rates agreed with VWFS depending on how much business they put their way.

But in my experience they always try to bum you on the rate, trying to fool you with a low monthly rate etc.

Trick with finance is to get various quotes to compare against.

Oracle Finance who are very good.

Remember the dealer earns some nice profit if u use their finance...

Depending on what model you're going for, there is usually a deposit contribution. That deposit contribution comes from VWFS, you want to take the contribution which is sometimes a good few grand, and then settle the finance the next month if you can get a better deal elsewhere. If you finance with someone else initially, you'll miss out on the contribution. The dealer also earns more on a finance deal, about £400 a PCP deal at my place, so they are more likely to discount... Some people think they will get a better deal 'for cash', not true. No dealer wants to do a cash deal, if that cash deal takes their finance penetration rate below a certain percentage, you could actually cost the dealership/salesman the higher banding/commission level, so by selling you that car 'for cash' they're loosing money = less keen deal. HTH.

No deposit contribution on used cars Amar...and if they are, they are just in lieu of discounted rate.

"true" deposit contribution is provided by the manufacter, from new cars...I.e BMW M3 which had £6k deposit contribution and 0% finance...who do u think funded that? BMW UK or Alphera ?
