Re: Lotus Exige
Whoa initially thought "that's expensive for a 6 year old exige" but they do seem to be holding remarkably high residuals.
Guess it's because the engine they used is no longer in production as it was killed off by euro 5 requirements as such not been on sale for a few years (2 or 3 - can't recall).
I would enquire as to what was done to make it 260ps - the "official" 260 upgrade used on the cup and 211 cars does have some unique parts. I'm wondering if they just mapped it or slung on a smaller pulley. Also look for verification of the numbers as it does seem quite a co-incidence that they match the factory 260 package.
extraordinarily low mileage... I'd investigate that further and make sure it's still been serviced when it should have been.
Is it because a weekend toy (unlikely) or used on track (more likely) or been broken down (always possible
)
Don't be put off by track usage - these are supposed to be used that way and as long as they are looked after they will not miss a beat for being there (the advantage of a light gear is easy wear and tear).

Re: Lotus Exige
Ad says one lady owner never been tracked!
Re: Lotus Exige
One way to find out - check the docs for any replacement tyres. Yoko 048s last just about 6k miles on road use and if never been tracked then should still be on the original set. If not then bah humbug.
Re: Lotus Exige
If they ever call me back I will ask the question.
Went and viewed this but worried its too extreme.

Re: Lotus Exige
Nice spec - ohlins are the best suspension I've ever driven.
However the cage really does restrict things on a practical day to day side.

It was Christopher Neil's that did my upgrade so should include the new injectors, fuel pump and then 211 reflashed ECU - so effectively the Lotus Sport 260 upgradeadsgreen wrote:I would enquire as to what was done to make it 260ps - the "official" 260 upgrade used on the cup and 211 cars does have some unique parts. That cool - always wary with dealer upgrades as one I saw for the mk1 was essentially a plastic flower pot over the air filter.535dboy wrote:It was Christopher Neil's that did my upgrade so should include the new injectors, fuel pump and then 211 reflashed ECU - so effectively the Lotus Sport 260 upgradeadsgreen wrote:I would enquire as to what was done to make it 260ps - the "official" 260 upgrade used on the cup and 211 cars does have some unique parts. Does look good though and from what I can gather a dealer with a good reputation.

Re: Lotus Exige
Well, it is a one owner car with all the annual service stamps on original tyres, mature owner no paintwork.
Christopher Neil upgrade at £2,500 with receipts.
No movement on price only a couple of hundred quid, one years comprehensive warranty too.

CNs were one of the first to offer the upgrade and I got mine done early on and it was trailered up there and back
They have a good reputation as I understand it so assume that car is good.
