Rear DRL light fault

Righty then,

Sister-in-law has an Audi A3 8P Cab. The nearside rear drl has stopped working properly, it sometimes flickers on faintly. I whipped the unit out quickly last night (had a few drinks before hand) to see if there was a bulb failed but i couldn't actually see a bulb for it. I have searched on tinterwebby but had no joy as to whether it is part of the pcb or actually a bulb. Does anyone have any idea's?
