Has anyone got.a trimmed down no. plate fitted to their motor
I've got a private plate to go on an RS4 which has 5 digits so was thinking of trimming the length down
I think as long as the border at the start and end (30mm) and also the spacing between the digits meets the DVLA specs I'm ok ???
Any advice much app

I am pretty sure the whole plate has to be one size regardless of how many letters or numbers so a shortend plate will be good excuse to get pulled over

Doesn't Jules have a shortened plate, with a US boot lid with the smaller aperture for the number plate?

I had an 81 vet with USA style plates years ago but the rules are much more strict now.
Don't think I'd get away with that now LOL

Speak to Jules. See if he has much trouble. Ive seen his car with actual US plates on it, but he may only fit them when doing the shows.

Also, I got pulled for speeding a couple of weeks ago (and undertaking according to the police but it wasn't, but that's another story). They mentioned my illegally spaced plate and my stupidly loud exhaust) but let me off with both of them so think you'll be ok. My plate is spaced x xnnxxx instead of the legal spacing of xxnn xxx.
