My New Motor
Re: My New Motor
You're welcome anytimme - I'll come skiing with you next time too.Ian,
Nice car - great choice of colour. I'll have to come up to MK sometime and go skiing again - maybe you can show me how an M3 eats the roundabouts?
Just give me plenty of notice as I'm travelling loads at the moment - away in China for 10 days from Monday.
P.S. Does the handbook actually recommend a running-in period?
Yes. There is a sticker on the windscreen too. Car is limited to 5500 RPM until the first inspection at 1200 miles. It recommends light throtle use only during this period. I normally don't care to much about these things but these engines need to be treated very carefully at first so that they don't, well, blow up! I took one out on test with 13 miles on and took it to the limiter. I had an inexperienced salesman with me who didn't even mention running in. At the end of the test there was a loud tappety noise coming form the engine. That's why I'm being so careful.

Do you mean that it has foglights as I removed the S4 fogs for better air intake?
