Sounds like you've got it under control. They'll need to paint the whole panel certainly, just wondering if they'd need to do more than that? Blend with other panels? Possibly not on a newish car, just thinking aloud.

Also, did they give any insight on how exactly they went about removing the badges? I've removed plenty in the past; key step is to heat up the glue till it's soft before even attempting to get the badge off. I'd then use dental floss to separate the badge from the paint, and remove the residue with more heat and some white spirit, and finally give it a polish with a DA polisher until you can't tell a badge was ever there. That's at home, I'd think a bodyshop would have a more refined process than that!

Good one you for keeping calm too!

How would you deal with this?
For the people who say violence is not the answer, they're correct.

Violence is not the answer, it's the question.
The answer is YES!

Seriously though, that's a massive fcuk up. As Faiscal said, removing badges is the easiest thing, EVER, their method was just plain retarded.
No matter where you go, there you are.

*makes mental note never to ask a dealer to debadge an approved used purchase!

My dad quite fancies an S3 minus the chrome mirrors and badged 'TDI'. However, he pointed out the other day the dealer would probably only put diesel in it....

Unfortunately most dealers only seem to sell cars anything else is like pulling teeth. On my 6 I needed to replace the inner rear lights. Common problem. The dealer insisted they only had one set I took him out side and showed him. Oh right was his reply. AUDI !!!!!!!!

i have to admit chris i used tyneside all the time(just 5mins from my house) and never had any issues..im really suprised with the damage they done but when mine went in last year for a DRC flexy pipe to be replaced they split the main pipe by mistake coz it was rusted so replaced all DRC piping.the whole job cost over 2k and they did it for nothing so in that way there good...be even better if the courtesy car is a new r8 or rs6 but i dont think that will happen :biggrin3:

I've dealt with them in the past too Jay and yeah, I'd say I was really happy with the service. I was really annoyed on the night I seen the damage mainly because I thought they had tried to hide it. This was after 5pm and by morning when I turned up without any other contact it was already being dealt with so yeah, up to now I can't fault their approach. Icing on the cake would definitely be a RS6, the cherry would be a new V10 Plus but that ain't gona happen ha. My mates just got a new rs6 and he gave me the keys the other day. What a motor! Id be well happy I they have one of those booked out for me.
