Dealer not happy with finance payoff
Re: Dealer not happy with finance payoff
mmm... the salesman told me that if I paid off the finance it automatically cancelled my entitlement to the free servicing. Is that complete bollox then?
Re: Dealer not happy with finance payoff
Yes it is, before I even took the finance i phone audi finance to get conformation that the 2 years free service still stands even If I pay the balance within 2 weeks.neil1003 wrote:mmm... the salesman told me that if I paid off the finance it automatically cancelled my entitlement to the free servicing. Re: Dealer not happy with finance payoff
Thanks Johnny. But "gggrrrr" re dealer. Upside is... I haven't picked up the car yet, so hopefully not too late to sort out some finance (even though I don't actually need/want it). But on fixed servicing, that's 2 services, so well worth having.johnny11 wrote:Yes it is, before I even took the finance i phone audi finance to get conformation that the 2 years free service still stands even If I pay the balance within 2 weeks.neil1003 wrote:mmm... the salesman told me that if I paid off the finance it automatically cancelled my entitlement to the free servicing. About to get on phone to dealer now...
Re: Dealer not happy with finance payoff
Neil, I was the same as you didn't need the finance but the 2 year servicing deal was a no brainier, plus I didn't even sort the finance out until the day I picked up the car so I wouldn't worry too much on that.

Result!Japseroony wrote:Bought my S6 with the Audi finance and received £2250 contribution over and above the 14% discount from the dealer. Paid my end over the last 2 months with the final payment of £10k on the day I picked her up (1st March) but as the finance started on the 27th Feb I contacted Audi finance and asked for a settlement fig - they told me that during the 14 day cooling off period there was a £4.50 per day charge so if I wanted to pay it off it would be the borrowed fig plus £4.50 for each day into the 14 day cooling off period.
I called them again and asked for a settlement fit on the 28th Feb and low and behold it was the borrowed amount plus £4.50 so I confirmed I was sending them a cheque and sent it in the post. As such I had paid the finance off prior to actually picking up the car.
Upon arriving at the dealers I told the salesman and he was very happy for me and not bothered about it at all - happy days

Re: Dealer not happy with finance payoff
Excellent. Sounds like I have plenty of time then, thanks. (car not MoT'd or delivery date sorted yet. Maybe end of this week, or Saturday). Salesmen wasn't in, so shot him an email and will follow up on Monday.johnny11 wrote:Neil, I was the same as you didn't need the finance but the 2 year servicing deal was a no brainier, plus I didn't even sort the finance out until the day I picked up the car so I wouldn't worry too much on that.
How does the free servicing work? How do you know you've got it? I'd be taking mine to a local dealer for servicing (selling dealer is 140 miles away), so do I get anything to confirm it (a piece of paper/voucher?), or is it just "flagged" on their system? (and I assume an aggrieved salesmen, on having his finance commission clawed back when I settle it, can't "un-flag" it??!!)
Re: Dealer not happy with finance payoff
Neil, when I paid mine off I contacted audi finance yet again to ask about this which they confirmed and gave me my service agreement number which is also on their system when you take your car to audi for a service.
Re: Dealer not happy with finance payoff
I also checked with Audi Finance today, who confirmed it would still stand if I cancelled within 14 days.
But:
1. if it's on finance, I have to pick it up myself (it's 140 miles away). They were previously going to deliver it. Apparantly finance stuff has to be signed "on site". And;
2. technically the free servicing offer ends 31st March. I guess it will probably be renewed, but does anyone know if it's just a pretty much permanent offer, but they just have a notional end date each year? The car might not be ready before then. (I should have asked Audi Finance earlier, but I thought I would get my car before 31st March when I spoke to them).
