Re: Lotus Exige
Car is immaculate, quick and loud. If it had new mats you would think the car was brand new.
All the paperwork matches up, serviced ever year regardless of mileage.
Will decide tomorrow whether its the one for me.

It's now tomorrow so what is your verdict
When you say loud does it have sports exhaust too then?

All optional and nice things to have over time.
The factory 240 performance pack cars had a bigger front brake set up (4 pots). See how you get on. Some argue that they are too much but I did It anyway c£2k fitted.
Nitrons are a suspension upgrade. Again not an immediate rush but you might consider over time c£2k
There are lighter wheels to be add which help the old unsprung mass thing. I've got the standard wheels that you have with R1Rs on (better tyre for the wet), a set of team dynamics with very worn 48s ( the tyre you are getting) and a set of 240r wheels which are a lotus Motorsport wheel and are a lot lighter, again with the yoko 48s on
For spending money google seriously lotus for forum help google seloc
For repair work I use a chap in heathfield who is ex lotus and he is good and reasonably priced.

Re: Lotus Exige
Tbh the only essential thing i'd recommend is an upgrade to the (frankly shocking) gear selector mechanism.
(Google letsla - I can not recommend this highly enough).
If you want to add to the experience factor then getting some polyeurothene engine mount inserts are great. They stop much of the engine movement (which on the supercharged cars is pretty substantial) and make the car feel much racier (a better throttle response). NVH is affected and you probably wouldn't want to do this to a commuter car but its far from unpleasant. I used the trackhq inserts as they are fully reversible if you don't like it.
Other upgrades really depend on what your plans are - if you are going to live on track then suspension and wheels always help but only for that extra last tenth.
Don bother looking at engine upgrades - the gearbox is made out of cheese. The engine can handle 400 bhp+ if you are feeling sufficiently mental but the gearbox is at its safe maximum already.
Don't fret too much - you've got a great car there

Thanks for all the replies and help got some reading to do.....
I was told that a great number of Exiges are off to Japan hence the limited supply and high residuals.
