I also hate 'SUV' as per DKs reason above.

I dont think its pointless. If you want an SUV that has enough power to pass cars on the crap "A" roads I live on and have decent MPG it will be a great car.

Every car has a purpose
BMW 540i
2018 GTR
F90 M5
X3MC
RS3 Saloon
RS7 FL best car I've owned. No faith in turbo oil screen (turbos failing) or sticking oil scraper ring causing missfires.
F10 M5 LCI still no rear grip lol
S7 black Edition Too big and heavy
S3 8V FL DSG 310ps, road noise is a joke
RS3 8P Rubbish
C7 RS6 Fantastic car but missed playing
GTR R35 800bhp, too extreme, crazy fast though
911 Turbo Remapped. Hated it
F10 M5, awesome but no rear grip
RS6 V10 700BHP crazy
Porsche Cayenne Turbo S 600bhp

Yes but this will do it faster :)

You could say the same about our RS6's the S6 does the same?

Dave - is there the faintest whiff of double standards creeping in here?

A V8 R8 does pretty much what the V10 R8 does - at least in the real world, but I notice that you went for the V10

As PetrolDave would say - "Go figure"

You know why I need this type of car - d'ya think I'd go for the boggo 2.0TDi Stronic ?

No. Owning anything Audi with an 'R' prefix is irrational.
I am therefore not rational.
But I'm OK with that.

I prefer; 'I'm pink therefore I'm Spam' (apologies to MontyPython)

Now......My philosophy on philosophers, also courtesy of MontyPython.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j6AhepWgYg4

Descartes clearly gave even his own views a sideways glance - "Common sense is the most evenly distributed quantity in the world. Everyone thinks he has enough".

Which neatly rounds off any possible argument that the SQ5 is the common-sense answer to whatever the postulated problem was.

I shall now disappear in a puff of logic

......Pfffffft !!!!

Ian, I disagree...the V10 R8 is night and day different to the V8....it's actually on track where there is not much difference...

I have no problem with a faster 3.0TDI Q5 but don't mess about and call it a S car, that's just taking the piss

At a snail's pace...
which I suppose is always preferable to a snail trail .....?

I think that there'll be a few SQ5s frightening an RS4 quite soon due to the mountain of torque available.

Dave,

I'd debadge it if I thought that I'd win a smidgen of your approval for the sheer humour of the car.
Then it could just be a Q-Car?

I just can't handle the whole Chelsea tractor bit. It deeply offends the closet aerodynamicist :knob: in me.
