What is it with the West Country

Post by liffy99 » Wed Dec 14, 2022 1:40 pm

My itchy feet are longing to find a new ( well, pre-loved) car - and looking at S and RS models for the past few weeks.
To date I have seen just one; an S5 from a main dealer. Nice model but the car was not the nicest example.
But that’s it. The whole of the SW ( I include Devon, Cornwall, Somerset and most of Wiltshire and Dorset) seems utterly bereft of cars for sale.
I’ve just trawled Autotrader for the models I am interested in and there were approximately 300 on offer. But None in Cornwall, just two in Devon (wrong colour), two in Somerset ( one of which I’ve seen, the other of no interest), one in Wiltshire, and none in Dorset.
5 from 300 ! Average distribution would suggest there might be about 20.
There is nothing else from that list closer than 100 miles away.
Most seem to be for sale ‘up North’.

Why ?
Pistonheads is must the same.

Hmmmm

I had the same issue when I was looking a couple of years ago – nothing local in Devon just the one in Bristol but we were in lockdown and couldn’t go and see it – thankfully one came up about 20 miles away a couple of months later
