MMI woes........

Post by gilford » Thu Dec 21, 2017 8:23 pm

I've just taken delivery of my new RS5 and having a complete nightmare setting up the MMI etc, does anyone have a link to a decent guide?

I've got the car registered on the MMI app on my iPhone but a lot of the features are greyed out saying "the primary user has not yet been confirmed"?

Any help appreciated, its doing my head in!

Cheers

I had this on an S5. You need to put the code in the MMI in the car to make the app work. The code is in the plastic part of the key fob you would have got. You need to scratch it off to get the code, bit like a scratch card. Then you go into the MMI section in the car and create the primary user. Once you have done that your MMI app should work with all of the functions :beerchug:

Thanks, my car didn’t come with said key ring so it’s been ordered from Germany.

Will google earth etc work then or do I need a data sim?

Google Earth etc should work already as the car has a pre installed data sim which I think is embedded with a 3 year free subscription. Check you Sat Nav setting to make sure its enabled. There has been issues getting google maps so it might not just be your car system.

The other code on the key ring will enable the MMI app on your smartphone so you can lock, unlock the car, check fuel and other systems such as lights, doors, windows etc, reset the alarm and also send address's directly to the cars sat Nav. If you are already on Myaudi log in and there is a tutorial on how it all works. If not I would suggest registering to get this tutorial as this is how I found out how it all worked :beerchug:
