Car crash through my wall this morning VK51 VPA

Post by tominski » Fri Jul 14, 2017 9:27 am

Got woke up at 5am today to find thsi on the drive! Few seconds after looking out the window a bloke jumps out the car and legs it up the road.

Car has no Insurance or MOT. Police have taken car to follow up on.
Car stank of booze and a bottle of spirit in drivers footwell.
Driver thought to take his phone with him but left holiday pictures of himself and partner in car.
Dont expect he will be collecting it from compund though.

Going to cost me a new wall though so thanks for that! Least no one was sat on the wall waiting for a bus as people tend to do.

Sure you can understand how i'd like to describe the driver of the car....

Wow. Lucky your cars weren't damaged I suppose. Insurance job for the wall? Or not worth claiming?

Oh mate, that's by far the worst alarm call I've heard about, I'm glad you and your family are safe. No price on a life. The driver has left evidence and without a doubt he will get what he deserves coming to him.

Is that a fake plate, too? Surely it's a more recent car than 51.

Wow, he's done a good job there, spun in residential street and hit the end of your wall sideways with the drivers door? Wtf?

Agreed with above - should get the same (if not greater) penalty for driving under the influence. Personally I wish bans came with a suspended custodial. ie 12 month ban, 3 months suspended for 12 months, if you are caught driving within 12 months, straight to jail

Me trying to see a positive in every negative - at least the driveway is okay? Hopefully no oil slick soaking into the bricks

Front position lamp(s) not working O/S N/S (1.1.A.3b)
Offside Headlamp aim beam image obviously incorrect (1.8.A.1b)
Front Windscreen wiper does not clear the windscreen effectively (8.2.2)
Supplementary Restraint System warning lamp indicates a fault (5.4.2)
Offside Front Anti-roll bar linkage ball joint dust cover excessively deteriorated so that it no longer prevents the ingress of dirt (2.4.G.2)
Nearside Rear coil spring broken (2.4.C.1a)
Parking brake: efficiency below requirements (3.7.B.7)

Advisory notice item(s)

Imagine he will have run home and called the police to say 'my car is missing from my drive'

Looks original to me, the E46 was facelifted around that era, Sept 2001 on a 51 plate, when the 320d came good with 150 bhp. Uncle had one as a company car, 02 plate iirc

Don't you live local to me?
If so, think one of the women at your wife's work has a husband who's a builder.

Just seen the pics on facefook. How did he lose it there? Thought he'd have lost it in the twisties just down the road. At least it's a small wall and nobody was injured.

Sorry for late reply. He was coming up past Cock Inn and just lost the back end. Went into the sign facing the houses and rotated on that with the momentum slinging him accross the drive and through the wall. He must have been absolutly flying!!
