Ye it's booked in Thursday mate. Just have a feeling they will say can't hear anything nothing wrong. As needs to be hot for it to do it. Soon as I get there will see if the mechanic can come in the car straight away to listen to the sound before it gets left to cool down.

It was in Audi a few months ago because the left front suspension was 8mm lower than the right. They said they can't do anything as there is a 10mm tolerance and it's just under that... but 8mm is a fair drop can clearly see how much lower it is by looking at it from the front! But again they said nothing they can do!

The C6 RS6 suffered from clicking wheel bearings (one of the 'big 3' issues) but haven't heard of the C7 being affected as well? There are numerous threads on it on the C6 forum so it may be worth checking them out to see if it's a similar issue you're having?

I had similar (different car) where a new set of non-rusty bolts were fractionally too long.

When everything was first tightened up, fine, but after a while it would start to click.

It was eventually solved by machining just enough off the bolts - drove me nuts for a while (excuse the pun)..just seemed that it would loosen just enough for the wheel to move slightly.

Sounds like the bolts were slightly too long. As the wheels warm up, the bolts get fractionally longer through expansion and start just touching the hub.

Perhaps only one bolt was too long, or has a funny end shape and by putting it back in a different position, it just clears where it was hitting before.
