A1/S1 steering wheel functions ?

Post by skirs6 » Mon Nov 21, 2016 8:31 pm

My son has just had an S1 steering wheel fitted to his basic A1 anyone know how or if you can get any of the function buttons on the wheel to work? Is it just a case of coding or more. He had no buttons on the original wheel so not the end of the world. Any help would be much appreciated.

Probably depends on the model of the slipring. Best to connect to it with the Vagcom and have a look at the coding options.

///M3 E46 | XC90 (V8, natch) | Passat GTE | RR Classic V8 flapper

If that's the case then there's a good chance you can code it to use the new wheel.

If you've got a genuine Vagcom, then the easiest thing to do is follow the coding instructions that come up when you connect to the steering wheel module.

If you do a full scan and post the results here, I will have a look. Remove your VIN or other identifying info before posting.
