Quattro GMBH is no more...

Post by Wotsirb » Sat Oct 29, 2016 10:15 am

According to the latest Performance Audi Mag, Quattro GMBH has now been rebranded as Audi Sport. This is Great for those of us with the GMBH Vin number as now they are even rarer and will continue to become high ticket items because of this.

Audi Sport looks like it's taking the same stance a Volkswagen Racing which is great for official aftermarket performance parts.

*Opinion:* this rebrand to me solidifies the mass market saturation of the RS brand. The new boss has already said they will be concentrating more on RS SUV's. For me, RS has either meant absolute performance with a core around being the best feeling and best driving vehicles audi can make. The last few RS products for me have been like that guy with the supermodel girlfriend who has had top notch plastic surgery. Looks great, everybody goes wow, but when you get in it, it doesn't have the FEEL it should... Porsche have been trying their hardest with new legislation to make their cars still feel like drivers cars. It's one accolade of my B7 I love, the raw feel with perfect refinement.

On top of the WEC withdrawal, does anyone else feel Audi now the new Apple?

Yep...which is why I'm voting with my feet. It's been this way for a while, no differentiation in service whether you're buying 100k or 100 quid car.

I tend to agree. I do like your analogy of the latest RS models ( smiley face)
