C5 RS6 can hear a rattle at 1200revs??

Just a quick update:

1 MAF sensor replaced and new silicone pipe fitted to replace an old boost pipe that had a tear = No Engine management light and MUCH BETTER drive

Also, that slight noise at 1200revs I'm told is the butterfly flap? Most Performance cars have them.

All petrol cars and most diesel cars have them in the throttle body but they don't really like make any noise you would be able to hear over a running engine. Maybe that person is on about the flap some cars (rs4 for example) have in the air box, but that's vacuum operated and I believe doesn't make any noise either.. And the '6 doesn't have one. I'm 99% sure it's the variable valve timing actuators.

Mine is very high mileage though so in my case I was thinking it could be the cam chain tensioners. (although these engines have cam belts, the two cams are linked with chains)

Everything's brilliant except now the revs seem to fluctuate after the boost pipe replacement and replacing 1 of the MAF sensors??

When you start it, it sometimes starts to automatically climb revs upto 1800.

Advised its maybe the wrong MAF sensors that's been replaced as there's 2? Or the throttle body will need cleaning??

Revs now seem fine after a good drive at higher revs

Engine management light has come back on again and the revs have started fluctuating slightly although not as bad as before.

Any ideas guys??
