Car delivered without the options

Post by Maximo » Fri Jun 05, 2015 12:31 pm

Afternoon all,

My wife ordered a new car a couple of months ago. She received a call today from the dealer to say it's arrived however the options she wanted aren't on the car. She was told that if they reorder the car with the options it'll cost more as it will be the facelift model this time.

Thoughts and which way I should deal with this.

Thanks

Garry

That is pretty poor work. How would they even think to deliver it unfinished.

I suppose the only option is to go straight to Audi UK customer services.

I suspect that it was ordered wrong as the sales person thought the option was standard, even when I said it wasn't they went and checked. So it's purely a case of human error and not following what the customer wants.

At the moment the wife has said she doesn't want this car at all.

I don't blame her.

Neither should you be expected to take it, it's not what you ordered.

Give Audi UK customer services a call. At least they will set the ball rolling.

Where do you stand in terms of funds given to the dealer?

I would pull out the sale completely given their initial attitude. They should be offering the facelift model with all selected options at the same, if not reduced, price to apologise or their incompetence and additional lead time for delivery.

If you have documentation proving what you purchased from them then it is surely very easy to back out, they have not fulfilled their part of the contract to deliver a car as the customer specified.

I'd say a very simple breach of contract. You should be able to either pull out of the sale with no financial penalty or get the car you actually ordered. If the fact is that the face lifted model is more expensive then the dealership should take the hit on that.

Sometimes venting this sort of thing on Twitter gets quick, positive results.

Regardless this is shoddy behaviour.
