Post by Tomson » Thu Mar 24, 2005 10:39 am

Question about your item

My email to seller regarding an RS6 that was on eBay yesterday - it has now gone.

Enjoy some 'classic' eBay action below .....

Dear sam3my_309,

Plesae explain why the RS6 is so cheap, outstanding finance, car in italy etc etc I am pretty sure this is just another bad ebay scam - but hey, prove me wrong.

Thank you,

The reply

Hello ,

Thank you for your interest in my 2002 Audi RS6 Bi-Turbo. The price I want to obtain for it is 4700 GBP (this price includes shippment and insurance charges).

The car is like new, completely working, low miles, 2002 model - 4.2 litre. It has always been garage kept. It is an UK model with UK specs on it (RHD, it's an English Delivery) and this car was never crushed, dropped or raced, no scratches, no dents and also it has a CLEAR title and CLEAN and you will just have to register it in your state. It will come with all the papers (warranty, insurance etc. ...). I took care of it like it was my own baby and now is in the same condition as it was when I bought it -- even better!

It will be shipped via air freigth with Lufthansa Air Cargo from Rome, Italy to the nearest international airport from your area and from there with ground freigth to your door. I'm in the Military and Lufthansa will manage me a low price for shipping and if you will pay the money transfer taxes, I will pay for the shipping fees.

The shipping costs and the insurance taxes of the package will be down to me and you will pay the fees for transferring the money (about 5% of the total amount). If you are not 100% content with the car, you will ship it back on my expense to get your money back. I am sure this will not happen, because it is a state of the art vehicle and you will have no reason to reject it.

The payment will be completed using Ebay security I want to take this opportunity to assure you that this deal is 100% LEGIT because Square Trade will be the third party between us and I think that we can make the deal by using their services. I have a purchase protection account of $20,000 with them. If this is your first time using Square Trade here are their terms: if you will not receive the car exactly as advertised or you won't receive it in 15 days since the payment has been made, Square Trade will refund you from my Square Trade account.

Regards,

Ps. If you have the money ready and you want to buy my baby I will declare you the winner of my auction and I will contact eBay Square Trade to start the deal. If this is OK with you please REPLY WITH YOUR FULL NAME AND SHIPPING ADDRESS IN YOUR NEXT EMAIL so that we can move forward with this deal!

The final response

Dear low-life,

Do not contact me again, get a real job – I have forwarded this to eBay.

Do you think anyone is actually this stupid ?

You are a fool.

The thing is, you can guarentee someone has just forwrded this chump nearly £5K.I met a lady the other day who had replied to an email from 'Ebay' with her user names and passwords for her PayPal and eBay acounts. GET THE NET

Hello,

Thank you for your reply.
I have a handicap from born,i could not hear and i comunicate only via e-mail.
The car is in Italy in my brother house garrage, but there is nobody.
As i said i could came to Italy to make the deal and if you want the car for 15,000 EURO.

You can make a deposit,a part of the money 3000 EURO sent via Western Union service from your wife name to your name and Italy as location,i will check with wu that transfer and if the money are available we will fix an appointment in Italy and when we will meet there you will receive the money 3000 EURO cash and you must have the rest of 12,000EURO to,you will pay me total 15,000 EURO cash and we can proceed with the registration of the car on your name.
I required this deposit sent from your wife name and address to your name and Italy as location just as a guarantee you are a real buyer and you are realy interested to buy the car,so this way i'm 100% sure i will not came from UK to Italy for nothing.

I'll wait for your reply with your decision.

NOTE: I do not required any money paid in advance,i required the deposit paid on your name and Italy as receiving location to be sure you will came to Italy.
Also,i do not send any car documents first, not before you pay a deposit or prof me you are a honest customer.

Thank you and have a nice day!!!

has anyone had a dispute resolved by Square Trade. As far as im concerned they are bloody useless.
Wife got conned when she bought a hand bag recently, all square trade did was ban her account the dodgy sellers account and my account (cos they saw the same credit card on my account as my wifes). They told us the guy was dodgy as they couldnt contact him and said there was nothing mre they could do. In fact all they did end up doing was banning my wifes and my account.
