from b7 rs4 to c6 rs6

Post by chris_m » Sat Sep 06, 2014 10:52 pm

I am after a few opinions if any of you guys can help? I am thinking about changing from my current b7 rs4 to the c6 rs6. Apart from the obvious, are these cars a world apart? I love the rs4 don't get me wrong but want a little more for it and instead of going to the hassle of supercharging the rs4, I have thought about going in for the rs6 but would hate to be disappointed going from something nimble to a barge (not my words). If anyone has experience in both cars, a little feedback would be appreciated. Best thing I could do I guess is to test drive one. I would love to be able to run the 2 together in an ideal world... :P

Yes, from reading other threads this seems to the general conclusion. C7 I would love but is a bit out of my price range besides the money to be lost. Maybe in 3 years when they are 45k. Why am I looking at gtr's

I'm going from a 996 C4s to a C6 RS6. I can't really compare them yet, I pick it up Thursday. But I can say that it's amazingly smooth on the power, 140 felt like 90, it's got a load of feel on the steering, it's very controllerable! But it did under steer at slower speeds than I was expecting on a roundabout.

I'm considering taking it to the Nurburgring in October to bed her in! But when I mentioned it to the wife she did point out if been there twice this year and it was "taking the p..." To think I could go again! If I get to go and you can wait a month I'll let you know what it's like...

Yes indeed, I would appreciate that thanks. Driving the rs4, one thing I do miss is the pull of a turbo car that I am used to. It doesnt feel that quick anymore.

I know you said a month mate but any more updates? :beerchug:

How does it sound? I love the sound of the rs4. In fairness, I like everything about my car but just want that bit more. In an ideal world, I would take a rs6 engine and dump it in mine. I have thought about going down the supercharging route but I just don't know. I really really really don't want to go for a nissan :(
