For anyone selling an wants an idea of what their car is worth.

Typically add a grand or so on top of the PX price to sell private...and as the value of your car increases then add more on top...I.e they will low ball a V10 R8 @ £55k when in reality a private sale could be realised for £60-62k

And bear in mind the PX price is just that, if you were to PX...that's very different to calling a dealer and asking for him to buy your car, as that will be a lower price as clearly you've offered him no business and he can just go down the auction for that!
