Sorry Simon I'll never be convinced by Skylines. Never driven one (I am only 19) but I've had a ride in a couple and they were all over the shot. The R33 felt a lot bigger and heavier than the 34, but the 34 did seem to shoot off a lot quicker, more on it's toes.
I hated the interior with a passion. It was like someone had gone crazy with silver spraypaint. It also rattled a bit, in an 8 month old car. Not impressed, but it was probably a one-off problem somewhere.
I'll never really like the Skyline like I do the RS4 etc., just because all the Barries, Chavs, Pikeys, Kevs, Neds, whatever you call them, LOVE the Skyline, and stick to them like glue. The Q car effect is always more stylish and "cool" in my opinion.
Incidentally, I only comment on the GTS25t after a ride in one in America. It was bog standard and felt utterly gutless after the GT-R, but I guess most things would! Both engines are wonderfully tuneable though as you say, and very reliable up to 600hp and beyond if you build it well.
Rock on

Try driving one and maybe you'll see the light. Utterly amazing performance cars.
Re: How old????
Ok, so which one of the monsters listed below would you most want to own or have owned:
scooby p1/wrx/ra etc,
skyline gts/gtr/vspec,
Mistu evo family,
Supra tt/celica gt4,
Nissan 200/300
One more moster from back in the day that i forgot, a brit one this time and another chav magnet, the Ford Cossie
I mention the Ford cossie cos i saw a race on top gear between a new scooby wrx (driven by Vicki) (it was about 3/4yrs old) and the cossie (driven by Clarkson), its was a dead heat round the top gear track, not bad for an old ford.
Please add to the list of Chav magnets if you think there is a car that ive left out.
It would be nice to know which of these cars gets the most positive comments.
Supras the one for me

Not a massive fan of the subarus, so for me it would be Skyline, evo Supra.
Suprising the comment about the GTS seeming gutless after the GTR most owners who go from the GTS to GTR complain that they have to work the GTR harder to get it going - but that generally is down to the boost comming on much later in the GTR than the GTS (2500rpm)
I have found build quality to be equally as good in the Skyline as my Audi -and the interior bland as previously mentioned.
I would recomend a drive in one - you will be suprised as the are a very entertaing car to drive.
I can only say that I have always had a very positive reaction to the car even after beating the pants of peopl ein the old traffic lights grand prix!
