Your butt dyno is obviously better calibrated than mine. I can't say I notice any real difference in performance.
An S4 is about 1650kg isn't it (ignoring the driver), so 30kg is less than 2% extra and the weight is held nice and low at the back. Theoretically you might even get better weight distribution with a full tank.
Previously I assumed that anyone putting small amounts of fuel in was skint, but this is obviously not always true.
Personally I hate filling up with petrol. Getting approximaterly 20 mpg I am filling up too often anyway. I would actually trade a bit of performance for a bigger tank.

Who fills their car to the brim with fuel???
Re: Who fills their car to the brim with fuel???
Not sure about the RS yet, but the S3 used to really suffer with the extra weight. Under 1/4 of a tank and it really was noticable. I rarely put more than £15 in at a time.
I've doubled that for the RS

1840kg unladen, according to Audi UK website. Must be over 2000kg with a full load of petrol plus a driver. I think it's quite well sorted in the handling department for being such a heavyweight, but that's just my opinion and you know what they say about opinions? - Everyone has one and nobody wants to see anyone elses!2000 kilos? Christ, and i thought my S4 was a lard bucket. That's one heavy car.
Re: Who fills their car to the brim with fuel???
For a new S4 Avant (heavier than previous version) Audi claim an unladen weight of 1755 Kgs which does include a driver and some fuel. Think they allow for about 80 Kgs for a driver and half a tank of petrol. I think the previous S4 was about 200 Kgs lighter.

According to the stats on this site, it's about 1540kg for a biturbo which is what i drive. I can certainly feel a difference but then maybe it's psychological???
Performance and handling are so incredibly subjective it's hard to tell sometimes.

I used to take my bike to tracks a lot, and some people said that if you went for a dump before, the bike went faster (some people are full of it, you know). You never saw any larger chaps who were really fast on bikes.
I'm sure the above does not apply if you've got an RS6.

Please tell me that the comment about taking a dump is actually taking the p#ss.
