RS6 exclusive => RS5 on the way?
RS6 exclusive => RS5 on the way?
I may be way off the mark here but I've just read that Audi are doing a RS6+ which is loaded with expensive options for a fraction of the normal cost.
To me could this suggest that they're going to start making a different RS soon and are therefore trying to clear back-stock of option parts?
Maybe the RS5 could be around soon?

Yes the RS5 will be launched at the Geneva motor show next month.

I look forward to the RS5, and keen to find out whether it will be normally aspirated or not. Current fashion suggests turbo's. RS5 with 500ps?
RE: Re: RS6 exclusive => RS5 on the way?
Personally I'd rather see the RS3!! But I can't wait to see what the RS5 looks like. To me, the A5 body is prime to flaring in the same way they did with the RS4. But all this has been talked to death over the last year or so on various forums so I'm going to shut up and wait for next month.
If I was a spread betting man I'd be placing my money on the £60-65k mark prisewise though.

Now if they released a RS1 that would be pretty radical, track toy any one?Phil3103 wrote:Personally I'd rather see the RS3!!
RS5 hmmm would be interesting to see how many ppl will chop in there current S/RS models for one.
Money can't buy you love, but it can buy you a well sorted racecar

Me too - that would be my weapon of choice for the 'Ring. Max weight 1300kgs, but that's very optimistic.Phil3103 wrote:Personally I'd rather see the RS3!!

I'd be tempted to short that, on basic price, but with tight stops.
RE: Re: RE: Re: RS6 exclusive => RS5 on the way?
An RS1 would be brilliant. Stick the current S3 engine in it plus a tweak! Maybe MRC could have a look for us and we could all club together and see what happens?
I think the RS5 will be out of my price range. However, given it only has 2 doors I'd be inclined to stay away from it. I also think many people on here that have S/RS cars do so because they can the performance and the practicality. Therefore a 2 door RS5 may not be a viable proposition for them. However, maybe if they did a sportback version a bit further down the line? Mmmmm.

And that would affect RS4 avant sales, so NO they would not do it.Phil3103 wrote:.. Therefore a 2 door RS5 may not be a viable proposition for them. However, maybe if they did a sportback version a bit further down the line? Mmmmm.
RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RS6 exclusive => RS5 on the way?
I'm working on the assumption that the RS5 will replace the RS6 and then when/if (please Lord let that day come soon) they do another RS4 that would supercede the RS5 (coupe or Sportback).
I don't really count the TTRS as a true RS car so at the moment they're sticking to the 'one RS at a time' approach effectively.

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RS6 exclusive => RS5 on the way?
TBH I dont like the A5 so the RS5 would be a no no.

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RS6 exclusive => RS5 on the way?
Sonny, I agree re the A5. However, I was never that keen on the 'standard' A4B7 until the RS4 came along. So I retain an open mind until I see an actual RS5. I much prefer the sportback as I'm not keen on these elongated 2-door cars that seem to be becoming more common. Only big Astons ever look right in 2 door form (IMO of course).
RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RS6 exclusive => RS5 on the way?
RS5 should be awesome. Great looking coupe. But it definitely needs more of the B5 body styling as opposed to the B7 or C6 = too conservative...
B5 S4 Saloon Widebody Track Car.
B5 RS4 - now sold.

Yep I hear what your saying, however I do like that A5 Ur Quattro sport sounded good. http://www.autoblog.com/2009/04/20/rend ... -lightwei/
New A1, I actually like it. http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default ... ryId=21492

Looks like we both would lose.
