Post by RS4_Barry » Wed Nov 19, 2003 9:34 am

Anybody have any opinions on or doing this ? Looks like it could be pretty good fun and its pretty cheap and well £20000 seems like a pretty good 1st place prize lol!

Means that upwards of 100 cars will take part - so the roads may be a little busy

I am up for it though

I wonder how much it would cost to airfrieght your car between to Bath and back ? I'd imagine a plane doing at least 120mph will easily be fast enough to cover landing and driving the rest of the way to the relevant points. Can't imagine a charter would cost in excess of £20K... There does not seem to be anything written to say you can;t do it. Just that the team that sets off must be the same one that arrives in Bath and returns. Just a thought... It isnt about who is quickest though
Seven Test drivers in cars ranging from our own Skyline to a mini will do seven varied routes from Borders to Bath and Back keeping rigidly to the speed limits at all times but driving as fast as is legally possible. The average time of the seven will be taken down and placed in a sealed envelope to be opened at the Event and the winner will be the one exactly or closest to that already decided time.

Doh ! Missed that bit !

Although, if you had time in hand then you could loiter just outside the checkpoints ready to arrive bang on time.
