Pradip

Very true indeed On paper the current M3 and 330ci seem very close...until you drive them. The way the std M3 drives is totally different to the 330ci. And with the CSL is totally different to the std M3...might not be £16k different but it is an awesome weapon

agree with a lot you just said about the current exotic car market.

I'm actually looking out for a nice e30 M3 right now to have as a fun/track car....

An awesome weapon - that's the right description. As is the RS6 and the GT3. I have driven many cars at the Nurburgring (Nordschleife) with the pedal to the floor. With this trio, I would be a tad nervous - perhaps least with the M3 CSL.

It was kind of weird to see Jezza so enthusiastic over a bmw though after his last M3 review!! He still slated the SMG a bit though - I quite liked SMG on my M3

Have never seen JC so impressed by a BMW to be honest.

He still had to get a dig in at the SMG box though

There are too few M3 CSL's around. + The high residuals of the 'normal' will help keep the value inflated.

10 available in todays Sunday Times (4 last week) all either at or below list.

Values on this car are already taking a bath. The RS4 at this point in its life typically attracted a 5k premium over list.

Looking good for 12 months

Tim
I too hope the CSL's drop to sub 45K - that would be a good buy and a reasonably worthy succesor to the E30 M3 2.5 EVO that I own and is worth £20k or so, 50% of its orginal price after 13 years. Will the value curves ever cross?

Legendary handling Pradip. Back then I used to drive what would have been considered a competitor. The Merc 2.3 16v Cosworth. Great handling for a Merc (honestly) but outshone in every respect by the M3.

Will the value curves ever cross? Yes probably. In much the same way that the current 996 GT3 RS value curve will suredly one day cross with that of the 964 RS. Those days are over and replacements will not be made 'in the spirit of those cars'. New CSL and 996's will simply be superceeded.
